Welcome to the Department of Policy Studies at the Institute of Capacity Building and Policy Studies (ICBPS).
Our department is dedicated to delivering high-quality, evidence-based policy research and advisory services that support Ethiopia’s Homegrown Economic Reform (HGER) and the Ten-Year Development Plan (2021–2030). In alignment with the priorities of the South Ethiopia Regional State, we focus on generating practical, inclusive, and context-driven policy solutions.
Working across key thematic areas—economic policy, social development, governance and institutional reform, and capacity building—we bridge the gap between research, policy, and implementation. Our aim is to ensure that research findings translate into actionable policies and measurable development outcomes.
We actively promote collaboration and policy dialogue with government institutions, development partners, academia, and communities to strengthen institutions, improve service delivery, and advance sustainable development.
