Mr. Tamrat Assefa, Deputy Director General for Capacity Building at the Institute, emphasized that the seminar provided a platform to improve the quality of research writing and foster knowledge exchange among scholars. He added that strengthening researchersโ participation and continuity in capacity- building programs would help generate transformative outcomes.

Senior researcher Dr. Ongaye Oda presented on effective research writing and publication, pointing out that while academic institutions provide theoretical foundations, there remains a gap in translating research into practical solutions for societal problems. He stressed the need for manuscripts that meet international standards while directly addressing community and developmental challenges.

Participants expressed that the
training offered depth and breadth in research writing, equipping them to
become more effective and competitive scholars. They also commended the
contributions of Professor Takele and Dr. Ongaye, acknowledging their leadership
in advancing research excellence.
The Institute announced plans to
continue organizing similar seminars, reaffirming its commitment to building
research capacity, improving publication quality, and ensuring that studies
contribute meaningfully to Ethiopiaโs development agenda.
